When you share a board, it's good to understand exactly what the person on the other side will experience when you invite them! What happens will depend a little bit on the steps you follow when you choose to share.
When you invite editors via email...
If you add someone's email to the "Invite editors via email" field, two things happen:
Milanote will send them an email containing a link to the board
The board will automatically appear in their home board's "Unsorted" section
The person you shared with will also see the board you shared in the notification feed:
When you invite editors with a link...
If you use the "Invite editors with a link" option, you can copy a link to the board and share it however you'd like! Make sure you press "Copy link" from the share menu instead of copying the URL from your browser's address bar.
If the person you are sharing with does not have a Milanote account, they'll be prompted to sign up for a free account when they arrive at the board.
They'll also see a "Save to Home" option, which will allow them to add the board to their account for easy access in the future.
When you share a read-only board...
For read-only boards, you'll also need to copy the link and share it manually.
The person viewing a read-only board will be able to see the full board without needing a Milanote account.
Allow the viewer to comment
If you enabled the toggle to "Allow comments, reactions & drawing", the person viewing your board will be able to add comments, reactions or drawings if they have a Milanote account. They won't be able to edit any of the content on your board.
Disable commenting
If you want people to view the board without being prompted to log in, just turn off "Allow comments, reactions & drawing" toggle.
