Collaborating with your team using comments, mentions & notifications

Updated over a week ago

Comment cards let you give feedback or have discussions about your work in context. If you're collaborating with a team, comments also mean you can avoid the back and forth email and chat straight in Milanote.

Add a comment

  1. Drag out a Comment card from the toolbar onto your board

  2. Type your comment

  3. Press Send to post the comment—comments won’t be saved until you do

Reply to a comment

Just press Reply on an existing comment to start a conversation. The other people involved in the comment will receive a notification.

Mention a teammate

Type @ to mention your teammates, they'll get an instant notification with a link to the board with the comment.

Attach a comment to content

You can attach a comment to a note, image, or other card. It's a great way to give specific feedback in content while keeping your board looking neat. If someone moves the card, your comment will move with it.

  1. Drag and hold your comment over another card

  2. Wait until the comment shrinks to a little marker

  3. Drop the comment

Comments on read-only boards

Comments can be enabled for read-only boards, allowing collaboration without granting full editing permission. The option for this is available when you share a board.
