Videos are a powerful way to bring your boards to life—whether you're collecting inspiration, sharing ideas, or presenting work visually. Milanote makes it easy to add video content in two simple ways: uploading your own files or embedding from platforms like YouTube and Vimeo.
Uploading a Video File
You can upload video files directly from your computer or mobile device. To upload a video:
Open the board where you'd like to add the video
Drag and drop the video file into the board, or
Click the Upload button in the toolbar, select your file, and it will appear in your board
Once uploaded, you can resize and move the video just like any other card
If you're on the Free plan, you can upload up to 10 files. Upgrade to the Pro plan to upload unlimited video files.
Embedding a Video from YouTube or Vimeo
If your video is hosted online (on YouTube or Vimeo), you can embed it directly into a board. To embed a video:
Copy the share link from YouTube or Vimeo
In Milanote, drag a video card from the toolbar onto your board
Paste the link directly into the video card
Milanote will automatically create a playable video card
Embedded videos stay in sync with the original link, so any updates to the source will be reflected in your board.
Autoplay and Looping Videos
For videos that you've uploaded, you can set it to autoplay when the board is loaded or loop continuously.
Select the video
In the toolbar, toggle the option for either looping, or autoplay
Note that these options will not appear for videos embedded from other websites, like YouTube.
Change the video thumbnail
If you have an image on your board, you can make it the video thumbnail. Here's how:
Drag the image you want as the thumbnail
Drop it on the video card to make it the thumbnail
