Using Columns to organize related content

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Columns are a great way to group and organize related content in Milanote. They help you keep everything structured and easy to scan.

How to add a column

  1. Just drag a Column from the lefthand toolbar

  2. A blank column will appear—just name it and start dragging content into it!

Working with columns

  • Add content to columns by dragging new or existing cards into the column

  • Reorder content within a column by dragging cards up or down

  • Move the whole column around your board by dragging it from the top

  • Resize the column by dragging its bottom right edge to fit your layout

  • Add a title to label the column and keep things clear

Create multiple columns quickly

This is handy for quickly creating multiple columns side-by-side.

  1. Drag one column onto your board

  2. While it's selected, press ⌘ Enter (Mac), or Control Enter (Windows)

Collapse and expand columns

Sometimes, you might want to hide the contents of a column. You can tap the small dash in the top right of a column to collapse and expand it.

Reorder content inside a column

Just pick up your card and move it over the column, watching for the black line that indicates where the card will be positioned. Drop the card in its new location.

Group multiple items into a column

  1. Select multiple items on your board

  2. Right-click on one of the selected items

  3. Choose Group into Column
